Full-face profile portrait of Prince Albert II (b. 1958), reigning prince since 2005, set against the Grimaldi family's lozenge coat of arms. Along the left edge: the issuing state "MONACO", Albert II's princely monogram and the year "2025". The mint marks of the Monnaie de Paris and Master Engraver Joaquin Jimenez appear at the lower right.
Albert II ascended to the throne of the Principality of Monaco in 2005 following the death of his father, Rainier III, continuing the House of Grimaldi's rule, which has governed the principality almost without interruption since the 13th century. The lozenge-patterned shield in the background belongs to the traditional Grimaldi coat of arms. Albert II is notably active in international environmental and climate advocacy, having founded his own foundation dedicated to the cause in 2006.
