Many countries issue their commemorative coins in multi-year series. Completing a full series is a goal in itself – here are the most important ones at a glance.
Since 2006, Germany has dedicated a 2-euro commemorative coin each year to one of its federal states — typically featuring a landmark or UNESCO World Heritage site. The first series ran from 2006 to 2022; a second series has been under way since 2023.

From 2023, Germany is issuing a multi-year series alongside the second Federal States Series, dedicated to the motto "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" (Unity and Justice and Freedom). The coins draw on the line from the national anthem and themes from German democratic history.

Lithuania's series on its ethnographic regions dedicates each edition to one of the country's historic cultural landscapes — Žemaitija, Aukštaitija, Dzūkija, Suvalkija and Mažoji Lietuva. One 2-euro commemorative coin is issued per year.

Lithuania dedicates a 2-euro series to major cities of the country. It opens with Kaunas (2026) and Klaipėda (2027).

Malta marked the milestones of its constitutional history with a five-part series (2011–2015), from the first representative elections to the proclamation of the Republic. One 2-euro commemorative coin was issued per year.

The five-part series "From Children with Solidarity" (2016–2020) was produced in collaboration with the Malta Community Chest Fund; the designs were selected through school competitions. One 2-euro commemorative coin was issued per year.
