About the series

Since 2010, Spain has been issuing the "UNESCO World Heritage" series — one of the longest-running 2-euro commemorative coin series of all. Each year a commemorative coin honours a Spanish World Heritage Site, following the chronological order in which they were inscribed. The designs range from ancient buildings and historic old towns to national parks. This ongoing series has long since become a fascinating collecting field in its own right.
