The Ancient Grimaldi Fiefs (Monaco)
Since 2025, Monaco has dedicated a 2-euro commemorative coin series to the historic fiefs of the Grimaldi family. It recalls territories in France that were connected to the princely house for centuries. The series opened in 2025 with the issue for the County of Carladès.

About the series
With the 2-euro commemorative coin series “The Ancient Grimaldi Fiefs”, the Principality of Monaco has, since 2025, been recalling historic territories on the soil of present-day France that were closely interwoven with Monaco's ruling dynasty over the centuries. The individual issues of this series honour these former possessions and their significance for the rise and the historical continuity of the Monegasque princely house.
