Belgium's first 2-euro commemorative coin for 2025 was issued today. The theme is "National Lottery of Belgium." The obverse shows the National Lottery's logo: Lady Fortuna with her cornucopia and four-leaf clovers. Along the left edge, the commemorative inscription "loterie nationale loterij" is shown, below it the country code "BE" and the year "2025." The mint marks of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt and the incumbent Belgian mintmaster Giovanni Van de Velde, together with the initials "IB" of coin designer Iris Bruijns, complete the design. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Iris Bruijns, is issued with a total mintage of 154,000 pieces, including 75,000 each in Dutch- and French-language BU coincards, as well as 4,000 in proof. A further 1 million pieces for general circulation will be issued at a later date.
