Both Luxembourg 2-Euro Commemorative Coins 2025 – "25th Anniversary of Grand Duke Henri's Accession" & "75th Anniversary of the Schuman Declaration" – Issued

Both Luxembourg 2-euro commemorative coins for 2025 were issued today.

The theme of the first coin is "25th Anniversary of the Accession of Grand Duke Henri." The obverse features Grand Duke Henri in full profile in front of the Grand Ducal Palace. Along the lower edge, the issuing country "LËTZEBUERG," the year "2025," and the coin designer's initials "MF" are shown. Along the upper edge runs the commemorative inscription "25. TROUNJUBILÀUM VUM GROUSSHERZOG HENRI," and along the right edge, the mint marks of the French mint and chief engraver Joaquin Jimenez. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin is expected to be issued in a mintage of 136,000 pieces, including 5,000 in a BU mint set, 2,500 in a BU coincard, 1,000 in a proof mint set, and 2,500 in a proof case.

The theme of the second coin is "75th Anniversary of the Schuman Declaration." The obverse features the number "75" on the left and, below on the right, a hand signing the declaration with a quill. The quill, formed from a leafy branch, dissolves upward into flying doves rising within a semicircle of six stars representing the signatory nations. Along the upper edge runs the commemorative inscription "DÉCLARATION SCHUMANN 09.05.1950;" on the right edge, the issuing country "LUXEMBOURG," the year "2025," and the mint marks of the French mint and chief engraver Joaquin Jimenez. At the lower left, the Grand Duke's monogram is visible, and along the lower edge, the coin designer's initials "CP." The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag.
