The Croatian National Bank has issued Croatia's first 2-euro commemorative coin of 2025. The theme is "1100 Years of the Kingdom of Croatia and the Coronation of King Tomislav". The obverse depicts the monumental equestrian statue of King Tomislav, an adaptation of the original work by sculptor Robert Frangeš Mihanović from 1938. The statue was erected in 1947 in Zagreb on the forecourt of Zagreb's main railway station. Running along the rim from lower left to right are the commemorative inscription, the country name and the year: "KRALJ TOMISLAV 925. REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA 2025.". The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Nikola Vudrag, the coin has a mintage of 400,000 pieces, including 5,000 BU coincards and 5,000 proof cases.
