The design of Croatia's first 2-euro commemorative coin for 2025 has been released today. The theme is "1,100 Years of the Kingdom of Croatia and the Coronation of King Tomislav." The obverse features the monumental equestrian statue of King Tomislav, an adaptation of the original 1938 work by sculptor Robert Frangeš Mihanović, which was erected in 1947 in Zagreb in front of the main railway station. Along the inner edge of the coin, running from lower left to right, the commemorative occasion, the issuing country, and the year are inscribed: "KRALJ TOMISLAV 925. REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA 2025." The outer ring of the coin bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Nikola Vudrag, is expected to be issued with a mintage of 200,000 pieces, including 5,000 in a BU coincard.
