The design for Monaco's second struck 2025 2-euro commemorative coin, "The Ancient Grimaldi Fief: Les Baux", has been presented. The obverse features a central image of the famous rocky outcrop of Les Baux-de-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône) in its present state, with the surrounding village of Les Baux-de-Provence. Along the upper rim, the country name "MONACO" appears against a chequered shield on the left and a star representing Les Baux on the right. Along the lower rim, the commemorative inscription "MARQUISAT DES BAUX" is displayed, along with the issue year "2025"; the mint marks of the Monnaie de Paris and Chief Engraver Joaquin Jimenez appear on the left rim. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The second coin will also be issued on 4 November in a proof set edition of 15,000 pieces.
