Eesti Pank issued the Estonian 2-euro commemorative coin for 2025 today. The theme is "500 Years of the First Printed Text in the Estonian Language." The winning design, declared by the Supervisory Board of Eesti Pank, bears the motif "Raamatuid" (Books) by Svetlin Balezdrov and symbolises the Estonian literary tradition. The obverse features four stylised books at center, arranged to form the letter E. Along the upper edge, the commemorative inscription "EESTI KIRJAKEEL 500" is shown, and along the lower edge, the years "1525" and "2025" separated by dots. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Svetlin Balezdrov, is issued with a mintage of 850,000 pieces, including 8,500 in a BU coincard.
