The design for Germany's second 2026 2-euro commemorative coin has been announced. The theme is "Konrad Adenauer", forming part of the "Unity, Justice and Freedom" series launched in 2025, which annually honours prominent German politicians. The obverse features a three-quarter portrait of Adenauer, whose 150th birthday falls in 2026. Along the left rim, the commemorative inscription "KONRAD ADENAUER" and the respective mint mark — "A", "D", "F", "G" or "J" — appear to the left of the design, while the life dates "1876–1967", the country code "D" and the issue year "2026" are positioned along the right rim. The designer's initials "MD" complete the design. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Marianne Dietz, the coin is planned for 2026 in a total mintage of 30 million pieces.
