Italy's first 2-euro commemorative coin for 2025 was issued today. The theme is "Jubilee 2025." The obverse features the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica at center. Along the upper edge, the commemorative inscription "IUBILAEUM" is shown, and along the edge in an arc – completing the Latin inscription – a series of alternating empty and filled fish, a Christian symbol. On the left, the year "2025" and the "R" mint mark of the Rome mint are visible. On the right, the country abbreviation "RI" and, at the lower right, the initials "CM" of coin designer Claudia Momoni. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Claudia Momoni, is issued with a mintage of 3 million pieces, including 12,000 in a BU coincard, 15,000 in a proof presentation case, and 4,000 in a proof mint set.
