Monaco's new 2025 2-euro circulation coin featuring Prince Albert II has been issued. The obverse features a new portrait of Prince Albert II (born 1958), reigning Prince since 2005, in full profile on the right, set against the chequered shield of the House of Grimaldi. On the left rim, the country name "MONACO", the Prince's monogram and the year "2025" are shown. The mint marks of the Monnaie de Paris and Chief Engraver Joaquin Jimenez appear at the lower right. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The first circulation coins are released on 16 September exclusively in a BU mint set with an expected mintage of approximately 7,000 pieces. General circulation coins are planned for the second half of November in a mintage of 1.2 million pieces.
