The Národná banka Slovenska issued the Slovak 2-euro commemorative coin for 2025 today. The theme is "100 Years of the First International Sports Tournament in Slovakia – European Ice Hockey Championship." The obverse features an ice hockey player in dynamic motion with a stick in the foreground, set against a forest and mountain panorama of the Tatras in the background. Along the upper edge, the commemorative inscription "MAJSTROVSTVÁ EURÓPY V HOKEJI" is shown, with the years "1925–2025" below it, and the issuing country "SLOVENSKO" along the lower edge. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Karol Ličko, is issued with a mintage of 1 million pieces, including 5,000 in a proof presentation case.
