Münze Deutschland presented a struck specimen of its second 2-euro commemorative coin for 2025 in proof quality at its stand at the World Money Fair in Berlin today. The theme is "35 Years of German Unity." The obverse features a typographic composition: along the vertical axis on the left, the right-aligned phrase "Wir sind ein Volk" (We are one people) runs top to bottom; on the right, the left-aligned text "35 Jahre Deutsche Einheit" (35 Years of German Unity) runs top to bottom. Both text blocks are framed above and below by horizontal lines. The connection between the two is created at center by an enlarged "D," underscoring the fact that there were once Germans in both East and West. Along the upper edge, the coin designer's initials "TS" and the mint mark ("A," "D," "F," "G," or "J") are shown. Along the lower edge, the country code "D" for Germany and the year "2025" are arranged. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Thomas Serres, will be issued on 25 September with a mintage of 30 million pieces.
