Theme and Design of Latvia's 2025 2-Euro Commemorative Coin Announced

The theme and design of Latvia's 2025 2-euro commemorative coin have been announced today. A new coin in the long-running "Regions of Latvia" series will bear the theme "Sēlija." The obverse features the coat of arms of the Sēlija region (Upper Latvia) at center. Along the upper edge, the issuing country "LATVIJA" is shown, and below the design, the name of the region "SĒLIJA." The year "2025" appears along the right edge. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin, designed by Laimonis Šēnbergs, will be issued with a total mintage of 413,000 pieces, including 13,000 in a BU coincard.
