Themes of Both Monegasque 2-Euro Commemorative Coins 2025 Announced: "The Ancient Houses of Monaco: Carladès" & "The Ancient Houses of Monaco: Baux"

After much unofficial information circulating on social media, the Journal de Monaco has now confirmed that Monaco will issue two 2-euro commemorative coins this year.

The theme of the first Monegasque 2-euro commemorative coin 2025 is "The Ancient Houses of Monaco: Carladès." The obverse will feature, alongside the design, the issuing country "MONACO," the year of issue "2025," and the mint marks of the Monnaie de Paris and chief engraver Joaquin Jimenez. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The first coin is expected in the second half of June with a mintage of 15,000 pieces in proof.

The theme of the second Monegasque 2-euro commemorative coin 2025 is "The Ancient Houses of Monaco: Baux." The obverse will feature, alongside the design, the issuing country "MONACO," the year of issue "2025," and the mint marks of the Monnaie de Paris and chief engraver Joaquin Jimenez. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The second coin will be issued in a mintage of only 7,500 pieces in proof, with its official announcement in the Journal de Monaco to follow later in the year.
