The Vatican's first 2-euro commemorative coin of 2025 has been officially issued, although the CFN website lists the issue date as 27 October 2025. The theme is "Sede Vacante 2025". The obverse features the coat of arms of Cardinal Chamberlain Kevin Farrell at the centre, beneath the symbol of the Apostolic Chamber — two crossed keys below a basilica umbrella. The country name "CITTÀ DEL VATICANO" appears along the left rim, the commemorative inscription "SEDE VACANTE" along the right rim, and the Roman numeral "MMXXV" along the lower rim. A dove with an olive branch to the upper right separates the running text. The "R" mint mark for the Rome Mint is placed beneath the Cardinal Chamberlain's coat of arms, flanked by the engraver's abbreviation "SP INC." on the left and the designer's abbreviation "O. ROSSI" on the right. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Orietta Rossi, the coin carries an official issue date of 27 October 2025 and has a mintage of 75,000 pieces.
