The Vatican's second 2025 2-euro commemorative coin has been issued. The theme is "Sede Vacante 2025". The obverse features the coat of arms of Cardinal Chamberlain Kevin Farrell at the centre, beneath the symbol of the Apostolic Chamber — two crossed keys below a basilica umbrella. The country name "CITTÀ DEL VATICANO" appears along the left rim, the commemorative inscription "SEDE VACANTE" along the right rim, and the Roman numeral "MMXXV" along the lower rim. A dove with an olive branch to the upper right separates the running text. The "R" mint mark for the Rome Mint is placed beneath the Cardinal Chamberlain's coat of arms, flanked by the engraver's name on the left and the designer's abbreviation "O. ROSSI" on the right. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Orietta Rossi, the coin was scheduled, according to the Official Journal, for a June issue in a mintage of 76,000 pieces.
