The Bank of Greece has announced the themes for its 2026 2-euro commemorative coins.

The first coin is dedicated to the "200th Anniversary of the Exodus of Messolonghi". The obverse will feature the design alongside the year "2026", the issuing state "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ", the commemorative inscription, and the palmette of the Greek Mint along with the designer's monogram. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Georgios Stamatopoulos, the coin will have a total mintage of 750,000 pieces, including 6,000 BU coincards and 3,500 proof cases.

The second coin is dedicated to the "100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Academy of Athens". The obverse will feature the design alongside the year "2026", the issuing state "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ", the commemorative inscription, and the palmette of the Greek Mint along with the designer's monogram. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag.
