Both Andorran 2-euro commemorative coins for 2024 were issued today.
The theme of the first coin is "100 Years of Skiing in Andorra." The obverse features a dynamic piste scene at center with a skier carving a left turn off to the right of the frame, sending snow spraying up and to the left. The legs with skis and the right hand with a pole are just visible. Within the snow spray, the issuing country "ANDORRA" is shown diagonally, with the year "2024" below it. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin is issued with a mintage of 60,000 pieces in a BU coincard.
The theme of the second coin is "UCI Mountain Bike World Championships – Andorra 2024." The obverse features a mountain biker in a rapid descent at center. Along the upper edge, the commemorative inscription "CAMPIONATS DEL MÓN UCI DE BTT" is shown. The issuing country "ANDORRA" and the year "2024" appear amid the splashing mud and gravel of the trail, between rocky terrain on the left and a forest scene on the right. Andorra is set to host the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships from 28 August to 1 September, taking place at the Pal Arinsal Bike Park in La Massana. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin is issued with a mintage of 60,000 pieces in a BU coincard.
