The design for Lithuania's second 2025 2-euro commemorative coin has been presented. The theme is "Lithuanian Ethnographic Regions – Mažoji Lietuva". The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the ethnographic region of Mažoji Lietuva (Lithuania Minor). At the centre, the shield bears an elk holding a spear in its forelegs, with a lighthouse displaying a characteristic flashing pattern above. Flanking the shield on both sides are traditional Curonian fishing boats. Below the shield runs the regional motto, a quotation from Vydūnas: "SPINDULYS ESMI BEGALINĖS ŠVIESOS" (meaning: "I am a ray of infinite light"). Above the design, the country name "LIETUVA" appears; the year "2025" is shown on the left and the mint mark of the Lithuanian Mint on the right. The inscription "MAŽOJI LIETUVA" runs along the bottom of the design. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Rolandas Rimkūnas, the coin is expected in the fourth quarter of 2025 in a mintage of 500,000 pieces, including 5,000 BU coincards.
