The designs of both Italian 2-euro commemorative coins for 2025 were announced today.

The theme of the first coin is "Jubilee 2025." The obverse features the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica at center. Along the upper edge, the commemorative inscription "IUBILAEUM" is shown, and along the edge in an arc – completing the Latin inscription – a series of alternating empty and filled fish, a Christian symbol. On the left, the year "2025" and the "R" mint mark of the Rome mint are visible; on the right, the country abbreviation "RI," and at the lower right, the coin designer's initials "CM" of Claudia Momoni. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin is expected to be issued the following January with a mintage of 3 million pieces.

The theme of the second coin is "World Voyage of the Naval Training Ship Amerigo Vespucci 2023–2025." The obverse features the training ship Amerigo Vespucci at center, cutting through the waves under full sail. Along the upper left, the commemorative inscription "AMERIGO VESPUCCI TOUR MONDIALE 2023-2025" runs horizontally, with the year "2025" and the country abbreviation "RI" below. On the right edge, the "R" mint mark of the Rome mint is visible. Along the lower edge, the initials "E. FERRETTI" of coin designer Emanuele Ferretti are shown. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin is expected to be issued the following January with a mintage of 3 million pieces.
