The modern Academy of Athens is Greece's highest scientific institution, promoting research in the humanities, natural sciences and social sciences. Founded 100 years ago to foster scholarly exchange, innovation and the preservation of cultural heritage, it also carries the symbolic weight of Athens's great philosophical tradition. In this way, it bridges historical significance with contemporary academic endeavour.
