The theme of Ireland's 2026 2-euro commemorative coin has been officially confirmed: "EU Council Presidency", which Ireland will hold from July to December. The obverse will feature the design alongside the country name "EIRE" and the year "2026". The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. The coin is expected in a total mintage of 500,000 pieces, including 1,000 proof sets.
