The design for Luxembourg's new 2026 2-euro circulation coin featuring Grand Duke Guillaume has been announced. The obverse features a portrait of Guillaume, heir to Grand Duke Henri, facing left on the right side of the design. On the left, the country name "LËTZEBUERG" and a stylised partial view of the Luxembourgish lion are depicted. The year "2026" appears centrally at the bottom, between "LËTZEBUERG" and the portrait. At the lower right, the initials "CP" of the designer are visible. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Chiara Principe and Helmut Andexlinger, the coin will enter circulation in the course of 2026 in an unlimited mintage.
