Slovenia's 2025 2-euro commemorative coin has been issued. The theme is "100th Birthday of Miki Muster". The obverse depicts three comic strip characters by Slovenian cartoonist and sculptor Miki Muster (1925–2018), shown from left to right: the tortoise Trdonje, the fox Zvitorepec and the wolf Lakotnik. Each character embodies traits of their creator: Trdonje's stubbornness, Zvitorepec's cunning and the perpetually lazy Lakotnik are all clearly recognisable in the portrayals. The design fuses the nature of the medium, the conventions of comics, Muster's later drawing style and the individuality of each character. Muster's birth year "1925" and the commemorative inscription "MIKI MUSTER" appear above the design, while the issue year "2025" and the country name "SLOVENIJA" run along the lower rim. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Designed by Robert Žvokelj, the coin has a mintage of 1 million pieces, including 6,000 BU sets, 3,000 proof cases and 1,000 proof sets.
