Spain's FNMT presented struck examples of both 2-euro commemorative coins for 2026 at its stand at the World Money Fair in Berlin, and the coins were officially issued in the BU fair coin set.
The first coin for 2026, and the 17th issue in the "UNESCO World Heritage" series, carries the theme "Monastery of Poblet." The obverse depicts a view of the Catalan Cistercian abbey "Monestir de Santa Maria de Poblet." The commemorative inscription "MONASTERIO DE POBLET" appears at the upper left rim, with the Madrid Mint's mint mark below. The issuing state "ESPAÑA" and the year "2026" are visible below the design to the right. The twelve stars of the European flag are on the outer ring. Designed by Alfonso Morales Múñoz, the coin has a total mintage of 1.5 million, including 2,500 in the fair coin set and an expected 12,000 later in a BU coin set.
The second coin carries the theme "Spain & Disability: Protection, Rights and Inclusion." The obverse depicts two hands holding the book of the Spanish Constitution. The commemorative inscription "art. 49 INCLUSIÓN" appears as the book's title above the Spanish coat of arms. The issuing state "ESPAÑA" is to the left, and the year "2026" and the Madrid Mint's mark to the right of the design. The twelve stars of the European flag are on the outer ring. Designed by Alfonso Morales Múñoz, the coin has a total mintage of 1.5 million, including 2,500 in the fair coin set.
