The coin's motif has not yet been revealed. With the issue "San Marino – Land of Peace", the world's oldest surviving republic seeks to highlight its historic tradition of neutrality, freedom and peaceful coexistence. San Marino has repeatedly featured themes of peace, international understanding and humanitarian values on its coins. The coin is to be issued in San Marino's customary versions: brilliant uncirculated (BU), proof and reverse proof.
Each euro country may issue at most two 2-euro commemorative coins per year. San Marino dedicates its 2027 issue to "San Marino – Land of Peace" – a motif of national significance that circulates as legal tender right across Europe.
